The ancient, timeless wisdom of Ayurveda, the science of life focuses on the human being. According to Ayurveda every individual is indivisible – undivided, total, complete – a unique expression of universal consciousness. Within this life there is a beautiful amalgamation, which is the union between energy & matter, or rather, the union among the body mind & conscious principle.
According to Ayurveda every single cell is a center of awareness and is a functional unit that contains its own intelligence called “mahat” further more Ayurveda mentions ‘prana’ as a flow of intelligence which makes a beautiful communication among body, mind & consciousness.
Ayurveda operates the panchabhoota (Pridhvi, Agni, Vayu, Jala & Akash) & it also mentions that the structural aspect of body is governed by these factors, where as the functional aspect of body is governed by the three doshas (Vata, Pitta & Kapha).
Ayurveda also considers ‘Prakrithi’ as an individual’s unique constitution, his/her unique genetic code. The model of ‘Prakrithi’ in Ayurveda speaks a great deal about the interplay of vata, pitha & kapha, & how they govern our psycho physiology & psychopathology. How ever this balancing in bodily ratio of vata, pitta & kapha can change & Ayurveda mentions it as ‘vikrithi’ Ayurvedic scriptures comment here by: that as we are constantly exposed to external environmental changes – diet, life style, relationships, jobs & varying climatic conditions, these changes are constantly bombarding the body and doshas vitiate to cause imbalances and here the disease process begins (vikrithi). |
